MMA UFC 98 Martial Arts

UFC President Dana White announced fight bonuses at the post fight press conference. There were 12,606 people that attended UFC98, with a gate total of 3.6 million dollars. Each bonus is worth $60,000 dollars. A total pay out of $240,000.

Loyto Machida was born to be the light heavy champion. He destroyed Rashad and not only did he beat him, he knocked him out cold. Rashad has never been knocked out or put on is back. Machida did it several times. Machida is the next generation of  MMA fighter. He is one bad guy and he knows something other fighters don’t. He is going to change MMA and the way fighters train. The old martial arts are going to be added back into the mix. I think Machida proved last night that they work and are a very valuable tool to have. Loyto got knockout of the night.

Fight of the night goes to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra. Hughes and Serra fought all three round. I think Serra won the first round. Hughes the second and the third was toss up. Hughes winning all three rounds was a little much. They won fight at the night and earned themselves $60,000 each.

Submission of the night goes to Brock Larson with his side arm triangle choke of Mike Pyle. Earns Brock a nice $60,000 dollars.

Lyoto definitely proved his superioty through his performance last night. His performance was superb and comparable to no other. He is the next generation MMA fighter, I agree and I can definitely foresee a future bout between him and Anderson Silva. Yes, I know that they made a pact that they would never fight each other, but this is a sport and a JOB. If your going to get paid and get paid in a “BIG” fashion, then why not go for it once. After all, we the CONSUMERS are paying for everything they consume, so why not give us what we want… Anyways, these are the two top fighters in the MMA world and I believe this would be the fight of the decade, hands down. They both have similar styles and are both very unique in how they approach their fights. Overall, regardless of their pacts, unless one of these fighters leaves UFC, you better believe Dana White will most definitely set up a fight within the next year or so between these two and the revenue brought in from this fight will be ground breaking and unmatchable! Boxing step aside!!! MMA is on its way to a new level in the sports world!!!
