MAIN CARD
•Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira(35-5-1) vs. Cain Velasquez(7-0-0)
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 32 – 5 – 1 (Win – Loss – Draw) ( 1 NC ) 2 wins by (T)KOs, 20 by submissions,10 decisions. Losses, 1 by (T)KOs, 4 by decisions. He fights out of Rio de Janeiro and is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter. Nog’s last fight was against Randy Couture at UFC 102. Some would say was right up there in the top 20 best fights of all times. He is the first and only fighter to have held Championship titles in both the Pride and the UFC.
Cain Velasquez 7 – 0 – 0 (Win – Loss – Draw) 6 wins (T)KOs, 1 decisions. He fights out of the American Kickboxing Academy, he is a Collegiate wrestler and
a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His last fight was against Ben Rothwell at UFC 104, He destroyed Ben in 58 seconds into the second round. Cain is an animal in the cage and he got the skills to take it to Big Nog.
This should be an incredible fight young versus old. This is another hard fight to predict but Big Nog has fought the best of the best in MMA world. His resume is very long and equally impressive. Big Nog can get it done standing or on the ground that has been proven but the real question is can he deal with Velasquez’s aggression, speed and power. Velasquez has been on a tear up the heavy weight ladder with vicious take downs and devastating striking skills, but he has never been in the cage with a fighter as experience as Big Nog.
My prediction: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 3 rd decision
•Michael Bisping(18-2-0) vs. Wanderlei Silva
Michael Bisping: 18 – 2 – 0 (Win – Loss – Draw) 12 wins(T)KOs 4 submissions, 2 decisions. Losses 1 (T)KOs, 1 decisions. He fights out of Wolfslair Academy in Liverpool, England. His styles are kickboxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter. Bisping last fight was against Denis Kang at UFC 105 where he TKO’d Kang late in the second round. Bisping needed a win after his devastating knock out by Dan Henderson at UFC 100. I believe the knock out really humbled Bisping and made him realize he ’s not the greatest thing since sliced bread. Bisping looked really good against Kang and He had better bring his a game to the table is he wishes to get out of the first round against Sliva.
Wanderlei Silva:32 – 10 – 1 (Win – Loss – Draw) ( 1 NC ) 23 wins (T)KOs, 3 submissions, 6 decisions.Losses 5 (T)KOs, 5 decisions. He fights out of Wand Fight Team from Las Vegas. He is a Muay Thai fighter and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Silva’s last fight was against Rich Franklin at UFC 99, he lost but it was a awesome fight to watch. Silva has lost his last two fights: one was against Franklin and he also lost to Rampage Jackson by first round knock out. Silva doesn’t have the best record in MMA, but he has had some of the greatest fights in the history of the sport. He has a ton of experience and if you have ever seen him train you know he trains very hard. Silva has a great stand up and a even better ground.
I am wondering if at the age of 34 is Silva near the end of his career. He has been doing this for a long time and he has put his body through hell over the years. This fight should tell a lot about where Silva is and where he plans on going. I just don’t see Bisping overwhelming Silva, he might has some reach and a little speed over Silva but that’s about it. I think if Silva can’t get it done standing with Bisping he will take it to the ground and pound him out. Bisping must keep this fight standing and use his speed and reach to pick him apart. Going to the ground with Silva is going to be a very bad move on Bisping’s part.
My prediction: Wanderlei Silva 2rd TKO
•George Sotiropoulos(11-2-0) vs. Joe Stevenson(31-10-0)
George Sotiropoulos 11 – 2 – 0 (Win – Loss – Draw),1 win by (T)KOs, 7 submissions,3 decisions. Losses, 1 decisions, 1 other. He recently moved his training camp to Enson Inoue Purebred affiliate, Fisticuffs Gym located in Vancouver. He holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Leonard Gabriel is his boxing coach. His last fight was Jason Dent at UFC 106 where he won by a second round armbar submission.
Joe Stevenson31 – 10 – 0 (Win – Loss – Draw) 6 wins by (T)KOs, 15 submissions, 10 decisions. Losses, 1 (T)KOs, 4 submissions, 5 decisions. He fights out of Cobra Kai Laimons School and Jackson’s Submission Fighting in Victorville, California. He is a Collegiate Wrestling, Judo and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter. He holds two black belts, one in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and one in Judo. His last fight was against Spencer Fisher at UFC 104 where he won by second round submission.
Great match up between these two. I believe Stiropoulos has the advantage with his reach and boxing skills. Two black belt BJJ going to the ground could turn out be very exciting, but thats when Stevenson will have to get it done. I think Stevenson will be looking for the take down and will not stand and trade with Sotiropoulos. Stevenson stretch should determine the outcome of the fight. I will not rule out Sotiropoulos knocking out Stevenson but if he can get it to the ground and keep it there he should be able to shut Sotiropoulos down.
My prediction: Joe Stevenson 3 rd decision
•Ryan Bader(10-0-0) vs. Keith Jardine(15-6-1)
Ryan Bader10 – 0 – 0 (Win – Loss – Draw) 4 wins by (T)KOs, 3 submissions, 3 decisions. He fights out of Arizona Combat Sports Tempe, Arizona. He is a Wrestler and Striker and frommer NCAA Division I Wrestler. He was on the cast of TUF Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir and won the $100,000 contract with the UFC. Ryan’s last fight was against Eric Schafer at UFC 104 where he won by 3 round decision.
Keith Jardine 15 – 6 – 1 (Win – Loss – Draw) 7 wins by (T)KOs,2 submissions, 6 decisions. Losses 4 (T)KOs, 2 decisions. He fights out of Jackson’s Mixed Martial arts Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is a Freestyle, Gaidojutsu, Kickboxing. His last fight was against Thiago Silva at UFC 102 and lost by vicious first round TKO. Jardine has lost his last two fights and will be looking for a win on Feb 6th.
Bader will have is work cut out for him fighting Jardine with his Orthodox fighting style. Bader will have the advantage on the ground while Jardine should be able to handle Bader standing. Bader is a good striker but I believe he will go with what he knows when he starts getting hit by Jardine. I would like to see Jardine take this fight to Bader and make him pay for shooting in on him. Jardine should have an advantage over Bader with Greg Jackson in his corner preparing a master game plan. If Jardine can keep it standing he could pull in off. Hard one to predict but I’m going on just my gut instinct here and pick Jardine.
My prediction: Keith Jardine
•Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic(25-7-2) vs. Ben Rothwell(30-7-0)
Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic25 – 7 – 2 (Win – Loss – Draw) ( 1 NC ) 19 wins by (T)KOs ,3 submissions,3 decisions.Losses 2 (T)KOs,2 submissions,3 decisions. He fights out of Cro Cop Squad Gym and Tiger gym Zagreb, Croatia. He is a Kickboxing, boxer and a Muay Thai fighter. Cro cop is known for him very powerful leg kicks especially his left leg, it has put many fighters to sleep. His last fight was against Junor Dos Santos at UFC 103 where he lost by 3 round submission due to punches. Cro Cop does not have a great record since he joined the UFC he has lost 3 out of his 5 fights and one lose by devestating knock out by a leg kick from Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 70.
Ben Rothwell 30-7-0(Win – Loss – Draw) 17 wins by (T)KOs, 11 submission, 2 decisions. Losses 4(T)KOs, 1 submissions, 2 decisions. He fights out of Miletich Martial Arts Davenport, Iowa. He is a wrestler and kickboxer. Ben’s last fight was against Cain Velasquez at UFC 104 where he lost in the second round by TKO. Roth has not been successful in the UFC so far and it’s not getting any easier for him stepping into the cage with Cro Cop.
Two big heavy weights going to war is one of my favorites fights. I just don’t see Rothwell dealing with Cro Cops power and speed. Cro Cop stays to the out side and throws nice combos and ends with a nice leg or head kick should keep Rothwell off of him. Rothwell might look to take this fight to the ground but Cro Cop is no stranger to ground and pound. I think if Rothwell stand with Cro Cop he is going to have a bad night and lose his second fight in the UFC.
MY prediction: Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic 1st round TKO
My prediction:Chris Haseman
•Stephan Bonnar(11-6-0) vs. Krzysztof Soszynski(18-9-1)
My prediction:Krzysztof Soszynski
•Brian Foster(13-4-0) vs. Chris Lytle(27-17-5)
My prediction:Chris Lytle
•C.B. Dollaway(9-2-0)vs. Goran Reljic(8-0-0)
My prediction:Goran Reljic
•Igor Pokrajac(21-6-0) vs. James Te Huna(11-4-0)

Geoff I like Rothwell but I can’t pick him against Cro Cop. I hate to say it but I was a huge Bisping fan but he can’t stop running his mouth. Jardimne has a hard fight coming up I hope he is ready. Would love to see him walk away with the big W.

Man I would like to see The Dean of Mean win as well but I’m leaning towarsd Bader. I went against what I wanted to do on the Cro Cop fight and settled on Cro Cop so far. I think I might change my mind like I always do but so far I’m going with the picks I posted earlier on this page.

Well I have some guys I’d like to see win at 110 and I also want to try to make a few predictions as well so I hope I dont caontradict myself too much , usually I do what Extreme John does and pick the guys I like so I’m going to try to just pick with who I think will win this time, they’ll probably change by the time the fights start or atleast before I pick for the contest but I’m super excited about the fights so heres my picks as of now.
Velasquez via. split Dec.maybe spends just enough time on top with just enough take downs to get the win on 2 of 3 cards.
The axe murderer via. KO in the 2nd full court press hopefully too much and he’ll catch The count in the 2nd round and lay him out for the count
Joe Daddy via. Unan. Dec. I think his experience will be enough to not get caught and control the fight on the ground enough to not “make a mistake” and get caught
Bader via split dec. Jardine will win the stand up but by the 2nd and 3rd round Bader will start to control the fight on the ground just pulling out the Dec.
Cro-Cop via TKO in the 2nd maybe 3rd I’m really torn on this fight. Cro Cop may very well be done as far as his desire is concerned. I think his head isnt totally in the game. If he can tire Rothwell I think his skilled striking ability will be enough to earn him the TKO/KO in the late part of the 2nd or maybe into the 3rd round. I’m still in the air on this one.
