UFC 108 Main Event Now Evans vs Silva

by Extreme John on November 17, 2009 162 views to the Head

Now that Brock Lesnar is out Indefinitely the UFC and Dana White have been forced into finding a replacement fight for UFC 108, with breaking news that Lesnar was suffering from a serious illness the UFC announced that the new main event will now be UFC 108 Rashad Evans vs Thiago Silva.

Injuries have plagued UFC main events for a while now and it’s safe to say that the UFC 108 card might have a few more fights added to the fight card to beef it up, Lesnar not being available for UFC 108 leaves the UFC with a large marketing void to fill. I doubt highly that Mixed Martial Arts fans are chomping at the bit to see Evans fight Silva, the originally scheduled main event featured MMA monster Shane Carwin challenging Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship belt. Neither Rashad Evans or Thiago Silva currently hold any championship titles, Evans lost his title to current champion Lyoto Machida.

I really can’t even think of a fight off hand that I want to see that would be possible for the UFC to add to the UFC 108 fight card, if you can think of a fight between available fighters leave a comment and let it know who it would feature.
