UFC 104 Fight Predictions

by James on October 23, 2009 291 views to the Head

OK fight fans here we go! Lyoto Machida will defend his belt for the first against former pride star Shogun Rua, in UFC 104 on Saturday, October 24th, live on Pay-Per-View at 10:00 PM EST from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The co-main event will feature my favorite two heavyweights – unbeaten Cain Velasquez and IFL star Ben Rothwell.  This card is packed full of explosive action with fighters like Josh Neer, Spencer Fisher and Anthony Johnson. Make sure to enter the UFC 104 fight prediction contest and your chance at $50.  This should be a great UFC so let’s get to it.

Lyoto Has brought a unique style of fighting to octagon and no one has seems to figure out how to stop him. Lyoto destroyed Rashad to take the Light Heavy Weight Championship Belt. Since Rampage declined the first crack at the new champ Shogun stepped up and took the fight. Shogun looked good his last fight but I think Lyoto is on a complete different level at this point in his career.

My pick:  Lyotgo Machida 2rd tko

ben rothwellBen Rothwell

This should turn out to be a great fight. Rothwell was on a 13 fight wining streak until Arlovski put on a punching clinic and KO him at Affliction Banned. Rothwell got back to his winning ways in his next fight with a first round stopage against ChrisGullen. Velasquez’s last fight was a unanimous decision against Cheick Kongo.Velasquez is doing very well right now and it’s just not his time to lose.

My pick: Cain Velasquez 2rd ko

Gleison has a impressive record and his 6 losses are by greats in the MMA world. His last fight was against Melvin Guillard that went the distance but lost in a split decision. Josh Neer also has an impressive record and has fought the who’s who of MMA. His last fight he lost to Kurt Pellegrino in unanimous decision. I hope this fight Josh gets back to his wining ways with a win over Gleison.

My pick: Josh Neer 2rd ko

This could be Fight of the night right here. Stevenson last fight he beat Nate Diaz by unanimous witch I thought for sure he was going to lose. Stevenson looked good and will need his A game to beat Spencer Fisher. Fisher is on a 3 fight win streak and his last fight was unanimous decision against Caol Uno. Spencer’s tool box is just a little deeper then Stevenson and I think he will pull off a win here.

My pick: Spencer Fisher3 rd decision

yoshiyuki yoshidaYoshiyuki Yoshida

Anthony Johnson last fight was a incredible first round destruction of Luigi Fioravanti. Anthony has looked good in his last several fights and Yoshiyuki had better bring his A+ game to the octagon if he plans an making through the first round. Yoshiyuki Yoshida’s last fight was against Brandon Wolf, which he won by a first round guillotine choke. Yoshiyuki Yoshida may have the advantage on the ground but not in the stand up game.

My pick: Anthony Johnson 1rd  tko

Antoni Hardonk  8-5-0 vs  Pat Barry   4-1-0

My pick: Antoni Hardonk

Jorge Rivera 16-7-0 vs Rob Kimmons  22-4-0

My pick: Rayn bader

My pick:Kyle Kingsbury
Stefan Struve 21-3-0 vs Chase Gormley 6-0-0

My pick: Chase Gormley

I’m pretty fired up to see Lyoto Machida remove Shoguns soul in the same fashion Silva did to Griffin.

Not a chance the Fisher fight goes three rounds, but Im with you on your picks.

Well maybe about the Stevenson fight :)

MMA Punk Reply:

I can’t wait to see Machida take apart Shogun. It should be a great show. Stevenson has a hard head thats way I think it will last all three rounds.
