UFC 103 PPV featuring a main event between Vitor Belfort and Rich Franklin is set to takes place Sept. 19 at American Airlines Center in Dallas. According to a report from the Mmajunkie.com and the OC Register Spike TV will air a live broadcast of UFC 103′s preliminary card two hours before the PPV starts.
The UFC may be stepping up its counter programming to be in direct competition with the boxing PPV event between Floyd Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez.
I hope this is something the UFC does at every PPV event. The fight cards are getting so good that the undercards are awesome with really great fights that fans want to see. I have wanted something like this for years . How many time have we watched a UFC PPV and find out later that fight of the night or knock out of the night was on the under card. This is a great move for the UFC and SpikeTV, it will only expose more fans to the sport and Spike will only get better ratings.
I personally will not watch the Mayweather fight because of the statements made by Mayweather about MMA and white people.

I definitely concur John. We have been conversing about this for who knows how long. It is about damn time Dana took his head out of his ass and took the time to realize what the FANS are looking for and want. This is a great business venture for Dana and the UFC. I agree with you James on the concept that business ratings and fan viewings should definitely increase significantly from this move.
