UFC 101 Declaration Fight Recap

by James on August 9, 2009 104 views to the Head

OK fight fans, UFC 101 is in the books. UFC 101 was a very exciting fight card with a lot of surprises. If you are a Kenny Florian or a Forrest Griffin fan, then I have very bad news for you. So lets get started.

BJ Penn vs Kenny Florian

Kenny Florian tried to get something going the whole fight, but never really succeeded. BJ keep Kenny at bay all four rounds. BJ just out landed Kenny with some nice punches and uppercuts. Kenny tried to take down BJ many times, but always stopped him. At the end of the third round BJ lands some nice punches that hurts Kenny, but it was too late the bell sounded. The fourth round, Kenny goes for a take down, but BJ reverses it and slams Kenny. It spells the beginning of the end. BJ takes his back and submits Kenny with a rear naked choke at 3:54.

Anderson Silva vs Forrest griffin

Forrest made a statement before the fight, “Anderson has a way of making a great fighter just look really bad.” Well, Anderson didn’t disappoint, he totally made Forrest look like he had no ideal how to fight. Anderson landed a straight jab that rocked Forrest, then another and Forrest hit the mat. Anderson lets him up and stands in front of Forrest with his hands down, taunting Forrest to hit him. Forrest moves in to throw some punches and Anderson lands a short right and drops Forrest and that is the end of the fight at 3:23 of round one.

Let me tell you, Anderson sent a message that he is the baddest man on the planet. I love Forrest but Anderson is on another level and I have no idea who could take him down. For those of you that think Loyota Machida and Anderson Silva should fight, Anderson said in the post press conference that it will never happen. He says they’re very good friends and he will not fight him. Yeah, I was very upset too, because what a great fight that would be.

Aaron Riley vs Shane Nelson

This was a good fight and Aaron started out with some very nice pinches and head kicks. Aaron took control early and kept control for all three rounds. Taking Shane down at will and out landing him with punches and kicks. Unanimous decision Aaron Riley.

JohnnyHendricks vs Amir Sadollah

Amir jumps in for punches early and Hendricks catches him with a big uppercut, dropping him to the mat. Hendricks starts throwing shots and referee Dan Mirgliotta steps in to stop the fight. Johnny Hendricks with a TKO 29 seconds into the first round.

Ricardo Almeida vs Kendall Grove

Ricardo was very aware of the reach advantage that Kendall had, and he worked it well. He landed some very nice jumping right hands. He kept Kendall close with the clinch. Then, Ricardo takes Kendall down and works his ground game. Kendal works hard but Ricardo just out works him. Ricardo takes control and takes Kendall down any time he wants, Kendall just could not stop him. This fight goes all three rounds. Unanimous decision Ricardo Almeida.

Josh Neer vs Kurt Pellegrino

Josh starts out great, then Kurt gets a great slam and they work on the ground. Neer tires for an armbar many times and all most lands it. Kurt had a very dominating ground game that seemed to frustrate Josh . Neer worked hard from the ground but Kurt keep control and landing nice elbows and punches. This fight went all three rounds and Kurt just keep control of John never letting him work his game plan. Unanimous decision Kurt Pellegrino .

Well fight fans, we have WEc 42, Torres vs Bowles to look forward to tonight live on Verses. Check out my WEC 42 prediction hope you enjoy. I know I will.

One of the headlines I saw was ” Run Forest , Run” . Back to the drawing board for Kenny , he couldn’t kill the Master. And tonight Miguel Torres gets knocked out by Brian Bowles , what a wild weekend of fights.

Silva’s talent is definitely a force to be reckoned with !!! But leave the fucking “CHEE-ZEE” ring antics to the actors of WWF !!! Very poor taste and totally unprofessional !!! Someone NEEDS TO KICK SIVLA’S SHOWBOATEN ASS !!!! The problem is……Who? Time will tell!! Now Torres, all I can say is WHAT-THE-LA-Fuck!!! I guess it makes for heart stopping entertainment…..Just the stuff I can do without, I mean twice in “ONE UNFOGETTABLE WEEKEND”!!! Great job James once again !!! Extreme John….I feel ya brudda!!!
