According to Five ounces of pain they have confirmed from Spike TV that Strikeforce Carano vs Cyborg averaged 575,000 viewers while UFC 100 replay on Spike hit about 2 million total home viewers.
Spike TV is available in 98 million homes. Showtime has approximately 21 million paying subscribers..
The Strikeforce event averaged 576,000 viewers witch peaked with 856,000 for the night’s main event at midnight. UFC 100 averaged two million viewers, and it’s 1.8 rating about 513,000 viewers was the highest rated program in the male 18 to 34 demographic during its time slot. Spike TV edged Showtime in that demo with 513,000 viewers to Showtime’s 181,000.
These number reflect the total number of people who are watching MMA. Our sport is growing and growing fast. UFC 100 replayed killed Strikeforce but it was still a victory for them. The Carano vs Cyborg fight was the most watched MMA event ever on Showtime. The numbers for the event where still really good and two Females headlining a Main event was a huge move for Strikeforce.

I can see the difference in views being higher for the UFC due to the fact that Spike TV is a free, unpaid channel where Showtime is an added package.
I didn’t expect it to be that big of a difference though and with Carano vs Cyborg and all of the advertising push I think they fell short of where I thought it would be.
