UFC 100 Fight Recap

by James on July 13, 2009 985 views to the Head

WOW. What a great UFC 100. I was kinda disappointed the UFC did not show more fights with this being there 100th UFC, I would have like to have seen Coleman vs Bonnar. I hope this is not going to be the new way to make money for the UFC. Putting somewhat known fighter on the under card to get people to buy the fights on UFC.com. I don’t think Dana White would do that but you never know what might happen.

I would  liked to seen Spike TV get more involved and show some of the UFC Fan Expo. They really missed out on a lot of ratings. People by the millions would have watched or DVR’ed it. I would like to see Spike TV show the undercards until the main card starts at 10:00. What a great deal for Spike TV, the UFC and the fans.

Extremejohn had a little more to say about  Brock Lesnar actions read his blog to find out more.

brock lesnar on top

Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir

These guy have talked shit for a long time. I like both Lesnar and Mir and if Mir wasn’t fighting Brock, I would have picked him to win.

The first round Brock took Mir down and just worked for position. Mir seemed to be relaxed and waited to make his move but never pulled anything off. Brock got a hold of Mir’s wrist above his head and landed short punches. At the end of the round Mir stands with a slight smile on his face looking a bit beat up.

The second round Mir tried the stand up game with little results but land a huge knee that rocks Lesnar but they end up on the ground with Lesnar on top. Lesnar gets hold of Mir’s wrist again and this time has more room and just unloaded on Mir’ head with short hard punches. Herb Dean finally stopped the fight.

Brock walked around the cage and walks up to Mir, who is in lala land and says “That’s what you get for running your mouth.”  The crowd show it’s disapproval and booed Lesnar. Brock gives the crowd the double finger. Then as Joe Rogan does his interview Leasnar says “I love it” and proceeds to say he is going to go home and have a Coors Light because Bud Light won’t pay him.  Later at the post fight interview Brock walks out holding a nice cold Bud Light in his hand. The very first time a fighter does his post fight interview drinking a Bud Light and states he is going to be drinking bud light all night long. I’m sure that’s the last time he disrespects a sponsor. Like him or hate him He is the UFC heavy weight champion.

gsp

GSP vs Thaigo Alves

I was hoping this fight was going to have a lot more action then it did.  GS just took Alves totally out of his game and could not get any thing going in his favor. GSP took him down all most at will and once his was down just dropped punches and elbows. I don’t think Alves even won a round and scored very few points on GSP. GSP proved that he is the baddest man in his division and I really don’t know who has the tools to take him down. The after fight interview GSP showed his class and said that Alves was young and would learn from this fight just like he learned from the first loss to Matt Hughes. Who’s next for GSP? I really don’t know.

henderson dan

Dan Henderson vs Michael Bisping

I liked Matt Hughes untill he did the The Ultimate fighter. He ran his mouth and showed his true colors and what a real jackass he is. Michael Bisping has followed in his foot steps. Bisping ran his mouth so much I can’t stand him anymore. He talked so much shit that Dan Henderson trained very hard for this fight. He only wanted to do one thing and that was to punch Bisping in the face and shut his mouth. Well Dan Henderson is a man of his word and knocked out Bisping in the 2nd round  in devastating fashion. Dan landed a huge right hand and knocked Bisping out before he hit the ground. Dan dove at Bisping for final punch to the face. Bisping laid on the canvas for a long time then finally got but was stumbling to the door of the cage. I would love to hear what he has to say now that Dan knocked him out for the first time in his career.

belcher

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Alan Belcher

This was the fight of the night. These guy went toe to toe in the center of the cage for all three rounds, trading back and forth landing hard shot on each other. Akiyama has a true heart of a warrior as Belcher landed his best shot and Akiyama still kept coming at him. Alan Belcher was robed of this fight it was clear that Alan won the fight but the judges gave it to Akiyama. Something need to be done with the judging in MMA. It’s bullshit what they did and they should be fired.

Jon Fitch vs Paulo Thiago

This was another great fight Fitch just out worked Thiago. Fitch ruled the stand up and the ground game. Donanated Thiago all three rounds.

The Under Card

Mark Cloeman vs  Stephen Bonnar

Colemam wins by decision.

Mac Danzig vs Jim Miller

Miller win by decision.

John Jones vs Jake o’Brien

Jones win by submission.

Don Hyun Kim vs TJ Grant

Kim win by decision.

CB Dollaway vs Tom Lawor

Lawor win by decision.

Matt Grice vs Shannon Gugerty

Shannon win by submission.

Sangalicious! Gsp is in another league. I don’t know who is going to be able to take him down. The same thing with The HUlk. Who going to take him down? All I know is I want to be there to see it happen.

Excellent UFC 100 recap and thank you for backlinking to my site I appreciate it, glad you found my UFC 100 Review Brock Lesnar is a Jackass article.

Belcher was robbed without a doubt, I can’t even imagine what planet the judges were on when that happened.

GSP is certainly on a rip right now, the injury stinks because I was really hoping to see a future catch weight bout between him and Anderson Silva.

Thank you. I liked your post on Brock Lesnar is a jackass. Brock got you all fired up. It was funny after the fight, Dana set him srtright then Lesnar drinks a Bud light at the post fight and apologizes. I would have love to be a fly on that wall and hear what was said.
