Strikeforce announced over the weekend that former champion Cung Le will step back into the cage on December 19 against heavy handed Scott Smith at Strikeforce: Evolution at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.
This should turn out to be a great fight. I am wondering if Cung Le’s time off has weaken his skills in the cage? Cung Le’s last fight was in march of 2008 against Frank Shamrock, where he kicked Frank so many time in his forearm it broke, ending the fight. Cung Le since then had taken some time off to do a few movies and he gave up his belt because he could not return to the cage.
Scott Smith had been in some of the best wars in all of MMA. I will always watch a Scott Smith fight because he has the true heart of a warrior. Scott ‘s last fight was against Nick Daiz, Scott lost to a rear naked choke in the third round but it was a great fight none the less. If Cung Le can shake off the ring rust and is in great shape, Scott will definitely have his hand full on Dec 19. I am very excited about this fight and it should be a war in the cage. Who’s going to win this one?

@sangalicious not doubt that front kick is sick, all though I will say I’m not really sure why the hell Scott Smith is fighting Cung Le of all people.
Did someone forget that Cung Le forfeited his belt, as in TITLE BELT. Scott Smith has never had a title and in the title fight he had he got torn up, I’m a big fan of Smith just don’t really see him giving Cung Le any problems.

Smith has had a title, the WEC Light Heavyweight title. Anyway I agree with you, Smith is biting off more than he can chew against Le.

I think Scott Smith became Cung Le’s welcome back to the cage fight before he takes on Jake Shields. I think Smith is going to have a real bad night
