Rumor has it that UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar has been reportedly forced to withdraw from his rescheduled title defense at UFC 108 on January 2nd with Shane Carwin. The reason according to Carwin on his official website: Mono, and supposedly Brock has a bad case of it.
Carwin wrote “Guys, my manager Jason Genet just told me that UFC 108 is not happening. Brock has Mono and what the UFC has told me is that I have earned the title shoot but I have to wait for the title holder.”
There is no official word currently available on the status of the UFC heavyweight champions current condition.
Lesnar out UFC 108 leaves the question who is going to fill the void? Rumor is Cain Velasquez vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira may step up and headline UFC 108 although Velasquez’s camp is denying the rumor. With no main event and tickets going on sale in little more than a week the UFC is under a lot of pressure to make something happen. I’m not sure about Can Velasquez vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira being a main event – definitely a co main event.
Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida are out injured, B.J. Penn fighting at UFC 107 and Georges St. Pierre just getting back to training. Who does that leave?
Leave a comment and tell me Who you would like to see in the main event at UFC 108?

I’m not sure who it leaves in the eyes of the UFC, I can name a shit load of fights that I want to see. All though this Lesnar vs Carwin thing sucks.

I didnt know Machida is injured?
I was hoping for the quickest re-match ever and see Machida v Rua take the main card position

Machida has a hand injury and had surgery. I don’t know how long he will be out

I bet Michida felt wonderful the next day after he ate all the body shots. It hurt me just watching him get kicked.
